Diploma in Pharmacy is a 2-year full-time Diploma course divided into 4 semesters. Pharmacy has been designed to prepare candidates to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other related pharmaceutical fields.
In India, The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing the course is a 10+2 in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or math’s as subjects or equivalent qualification in any stream from a recognized educational Board. Admission to the course is based on the candidate’s performance in a relevant entrance exam, or merit obtained in the last qualifying exam.
After completion of D.Pharm, one should complete the respective pharmacy council registration to become a registered pharmacist. A D.Pharm holder can go for a professional degree (under graduate) course of B.Pharm in India via lateral entry scheme..
